Volunteers from the local Pentecostal church, led by Marjorie Riccardo (center)

On April 10, 2019, Life Care Center of Palm Bay, Florida, honored its volunteers with a party.

Quite a few of the center’s dedicated volunteers attended, greeted by Will Tarbet, executive director, and other associates. They enjoyed an extravagant afternoon buffet created by Michael Hambel, dietary manager, and Nancy Riker, assistant food services director. The guests represented volunteers from church groups, as well as musicians and daily volunteers who help with a variety of needs.

“Our volunteers all have unique backgrounds, and having them here doing what they love to do with the residents makes the residents really feel loved and important,” said Claire Hart, activity director. “The volunteers are a way of bringing the outside community to the residents.”

Here are a few of the amazing volunteers at Life Care Center of Palm Bay:

  • Jim and Linda McGovern – Jim runs the church service every Sunday in the memory care unit.
  • Rita Giuffrida and Leroy Haynes – They are the leaders of the Church of Our Savior service on the first and third Sundays of the month.
